How many of you are having problems getting to the gym? Sometimes it’s hard, life can get in the way. But does working out feel like work to you? this could be a sign that it’s time for a break.

Not just your body needs a break, but also your mind. I know CrossFit is constantly varied but it can still beat you down mentally. Sometimes we just need a break from everything.

When you start to dread going to the gym or start putting it off all the time it’s a good indicator that you need a break. I find that 3-4 days off the gym is good for me. If you’re like me, more than a week feels like a lifetime and I need to get back at it.?

Sometimes while doing strength training with a lot of volume you can feel burnt out also. Usually at the end of a six week cycle it’s a good time to kick back for 2-3 days. Come back to some nice short CrossFit WOD’s and you’ll be good as gold.

Remember taking some R&R is never a bad thing. Dump the working on your holiday’s you won’t lose your fitness level unless your doing nothing for a month. Take it easy, and do some active recovery, it’s good for your mind as well as your body!
